The K1 WolrdMax Final Card is set for 1st Oct 2008.
Two former K1 WorldMax Champions may be set for another rematch. K1 Favourite Masato has made it to the Semi Finals after beating Drago. He’ll be going head to head with Yoshihiro Sato who knocked out Buakaw, who’s considered one of the best pound for pound kickboxers.
Should Masato defeat Sato he could potentially fight Andy Souwer.
Though Andy Souwer won’t get an easy ride against Ukranian Fighter Artur Kyshenko would managed to dominate Yasuhiro Kido with fast hands and strong low leg kicks. While just only 21, Artur youth maybe the kink in his armour and we should see Souwer the victory though it’ll will be one awesome fight.

]]>This is an interesting fight. Super welterweight muay thai champions vs heavy weight fighter Mighty Mo in world K1 GP 2004.
Muay thai vs kickboxer in a normal fight the advantage goes to the muay thai fighter but under the K1 rules, its seems to favours the kickboxer, add in the weight difference I had Might Mo as the winner.
The fighters didn’t spend to much time sizing each other up, Kaoklai fired off leg kicks from range and Mo answered with body shots when Kaoklai got too close.
Koaklai continues to uses his range and lands several kicks from range and keeps circling Mighty Mo. Mo tried to corner Kaoklai but he’s able to evade any attacks from Might Mo.
Kaoklai circles left and fires off a heavy jumping muay thai kick which hits mighty mo flush on the side of the head and knocks the big guy down. Mo tries to stand but ends up on the floor.
Kaoklai wins by KO. Very impressive kick.

This kicking technique is useful when chopping down the legs of your opponents, by attacking their thighs. As your opponent starts to drop his guard, go high with your shin kick as Gabriel Gonzaga demonstrated during his UFC fight against Mirco Crocop
Just take a look at how devastating a shin kick can be. Well known K1 kickboxer and Pride Fighter Mirco Crocop is known worldwide for his devastating leg kicks, who knew that he’d be on the receiving end of this head high shin kick. That’s gonna hurt big time.
The round kick ( front and back variations) is fairly simple and very easy to control. One of the advantages of the round kick is that the round kick is executed, your able to maintain balance to defend a strike from your opponent.
When done correctly, you can inflict lighting fast damage and be ready to counter an attack.
When preformed properly the front kick can be used effectively and efficiently like a boxers jab, keeping the opponent at a distance and setting up follow-up punch-kick combinations.
The front kick has several variations using lead leg front kick, back leg front kick. The following video is a basic overview the back leg front kick.

]]>Just watching this video makes me wanna hurl. Kickboxer attempts a low outside leg kick. His opponent leg checks the kick and kickboxer ends up kicking his opponents knee which breaks the kickboxers shin. His leg flops around like a rubber puppet.
Not for the faint hearted.
